YJ: The Rescue

As a possessed Zapps charged Artemis and Robin, Artemis grabbed a arrow and aimed it at the girl.

"Oh I'm going to enjoy this," Artemis said with a smirk, ready to shot at the prefect moment.

Robin tried to stop her but it was to late, Artemis had let the arrow go. Zapps dodged it and started to unleash a on slot of balls of electricity.

Artemis and Robin jumped back and barely got out of the way of the attacks.

"When did she get this good?" Artemis asked Robin as the two hid behind the wall on the opposite of the room.

"She's not holding back, that's why. Normally she'd hold back some, worrying about meagerly hurting someone." Robin explained.

"Hey, what's going on? Where's Z?" Kid Flash asked appearing out of no where, the others not fair behind him.

Before ether could tell him what was going on, he was hit in the chest by a ball of electricity and shot backwards.

"She's right there," Artemis simply said as the two ran over to their fallen teammate.

"Dude! Did Z just hit me?!"

"Yup." Robin answered, looking back over to Zapps.

"Mad-Zapps! Are you ok?" Cyborg called to his sister, just making it up to Kid, Robin and Artemis. When he got closer, he noticed her eyes where glowing red and she looked as though she was ready to attack.

"No. No! Why did you let this happen?! I trusted you to take care of her and this is what happens" Cyborg yelled, getting into Robin's face.

"Where do you brats keep coming from?!" Brother Blood said, walking up behind Zapps.

Aqualad and the others noticed in the old mans hands was Robin's glove.

'We need to get those files back.' Aqualad told the others.

'Do what you want, I'm going to pound that old man until he release my sister!' Cyborg snapped.

Annoyed by the teens before him, he command the little girl to "Kill them!" and threw his arm out, pointing to the girls teammates and brother.

Zapps shot toward them, once again firing multiple electrical spares at the group.

The team scattered then quickly started an attack of their own. While the others kept Zapps busy, Kid Flash sped over to Brother Blood and snatched the glove from his hands.

"No!" he yelled before looking over to Zapps. "Get that glove back!"

Zapps started to head for Kid Flash when she was slammed to the ground by Superboy. She tried to get free but Superboy overpowered her. She even tried to electrocute him to no avail. He kept her pinned down, fighting through the pain.

"So what are you going to do now? Your little helper is useless." Superboy taunt the old man.

"Just set her free! She's clearly no good to you now," Kid Flash said.

Brother Blood glared at them for a second before he started to let out a laugh, "And why should I do that? I've been in her mind and from what I've seen, she could come in handy. In fact, I think she'd make a great addition to my school."

As the man finished, Cyborg had all that he could take and his hand changed into a cannon. He blasted the old man, thinking he had hit him but soon realized Brother Blood had put up a barrier. The smirk on the man's face only infuriated him more and he ran toward him. About the time he went in for a pouch, the man disappeared.

"No!" Cyborg heard Miss Martian cry out and he turned around to see Zapps was missing as well.

"He's going to pay for taking her. I swear I'll do whatever it takes to get her back! And when I do, I'm taking her with me. I see now that she's not safe with you guys."

"Dude, you're not seriously blaming us for all this? What about you, you couldn't save her ether so why would she be any safer with you!" Kid Flash said, angry that Cyborg was putting the blame all on them and got in his face. Or at least tried.

"Standing around here, blaming each other will not help the situation," Aqualad tried to get the two's heads back in the game. "We need to find out where he and Zapps went too."

When Aqualad mentioned finding Zapps', Robin brought up his computer and a blinking red dot appeared on the screen. "I've got Zapps position. Looks like she's not that far from us," he said, trying to hind the fact that he was just as worried about Zapps.

"When did yo--Never mind," Kid Flash sighed.

"Good work, Robin," Aqualad said before looking at Miss Martian. "Miss Martian, do you think you could block his mind control long enough for us to get Zapps away from him?"

"I can try but the last time I tried to help her, he pushed me out of her mind."

Following the tracker Robin planted on Zapps, the team and Cyborg made their way to the two. They ended up in a large, almost dome like room and standing on the far side of it was Zapps with Brother Blood right behind her.

"You know, I might be willing to hand the girl back over to you if you return what you've stolen from me," Brother Blood broke the silence in the room.

"Or we could keep them and you could just hand her over anyway," Robin smirked.

"Be that way!" the man's evil smile disappeared from his lips and placed a hand on Zapps. "Destroy them. Make them pay for disobeying me."

Zapps didn't say a word and took a few steps toward the others. She threw her hands in the air and started to form a huge ball of electricity over her head. The other just watched in shock and horror at the attack the girl was planning to hit them with. They also noticed something that surprised them. Tears where running down the girls face. They had thought Brother Blood had full control over her but it seemed there was still some hope of breaking her free from the mad man's control.

'Miss Martian, this may be the perfect chance to help her. Do it now!' Aqualad commanded and Miss Martian nodded before facing the headmaster. Her eyes now glowing green as she focused on breaking the hold the headmaster had on Zapps.

It didn't take Brother Blood to notice what the martian was doing and began to fight back. While the two where fighting a battle of the minds, Zapps seemed to come in and out of her possessed state.

A couple of minutes went by as Brother Blood and Miss Martian kept on fighting and Zapps fought back as well. Finally she was able to break free and fell to the floor but before the others could get to her, Brother Blood appeared in front of her.

"You think I was going to let her go so easily?! I can always get her back."

"I'm right here you know!" Zapps jumped up, clearly angry at what he had made her do.

"Oh dear, you don't really believe this time will be any different do you?" the headmaster smiled devilishly. "I don't know why you want to go back to that sad life of you're anyways. Always on the outside, never did quite fit in. At the orphanage all they did was pick on you. It wasn't your fault you can't control your powers yet or that you were born that way but they still hated you. Then after years of rejection from families that didn't want a freak for a daughter, you finally get picked. Oh but then it turns out they just wanted you as a test rat. Still you do everything you can to try to be 'normal' and to find love. Even if it was a lie. And lets not forget about now. You do all you can to try and keep up with the others on your team but somehow you just can't do it. They don't even notice just how hard you really are working, do they? They think you see this as a joke! I know two didn't even want you there to begin with. I, on the other hand, understand you. Maybe better then even you do. So why no-"

"Dude, I'm not joining your cult just cause you make my life sound a lot worst then it is!" Zapps laughed loudly which only angered the man.

"Why you little brat! I'll teach you to laugh at me," He said, throwing a arm up into the air. When he did, Zapps was sent flying back in a very violate manner.

"Maddie! No," Cyborg cried out to his sister, watching in horror as she flew through the air like a rag doll.

"I got you!" Zapps heard as she felt her self come to a stop. She looked up to see no other then Robin.

"Are you making a habit of this now?" she giggled.

"Could ask you the same thing," he smirked, landing behind the others.

Robin could barely help set the girl on her feet when Cyborg came running to her side.

"Maddie, I'm so happy your back to normal."

"Don't go sighing in relief just yet! I'm not letting you out of here before you hand over those files! With or without the brat."

'We have what we came here for so there is no need for us to stick around,' Aqualad told the others, motioning for them to head out.

Robin threw a smoke bomb and they made their escape, back to the ship.

Now safely flying over the city, Miss Martian asked where Cyborg wanted to be dropped of and he told her. She flew to a spot just on the cities edge and landed the ship.

Cyborg got out of his set and made his way over to Zapps.

"Maddie, it's time to go!"

"Go? Go where?" Zapps looked at him confused.

"Dude, you're not still on that, are you?" Kid Flash jumped out of his set, standing a bit in between Cyborg and Zapps.

"On what? What am I missing?!" Zapps asked, getting more confused.

"You're coming with me. I don't want you to be in danger like that ever again."

"What?! Vic, you can't mean that! You can't take this away from me," Zapps tried to hold back her tears and lowered her head. "Please…don't.."

Cyborg let out a sigh before saying, "I know you've always wanted this but do you realize what you've gotten yourself into. I could of easily lost you today. I can't-"

"But you're doing the same thing right?! That's why you were there in the first place," Zapps snapped. "Why can't I do the one thing I've always wanted to? It's the only thing that doesn't make me feel like an outsider! I know dad always said I could use my powers to help others in other, less dangerous, ways but lets face it, I'd still be labeled a freak. I'd still be left out. But here, I don't have to worry about that. You can't take that away from me Victor! I won't let you."

"Maddie…I…I know it makes you happy but you got to understand-"

"I'll never talk to you again if you do. Vic, don't you understand how I feel now? After what happen to you?"

Cyborg just looked at his little sister for a long second and let out another sigh. "Fine but you got to promise me you'll be careful form now on. I-I just don't want to see you hurt."

"Really?!" Zapps head popped up in shock. "Vic, you're the best big brother ever!" Zapps leaped from her set and wrapped her arms around his neck, giving him a huge hug.

"Hey and what about me?" Kid Flash joked.

"Way to ruin the moment, KF," Robin laughed.

Cyborg looked over to the two boys and then back to his little girl, who was still hugging his neck. After about another second, he pulled her off and held her in front of him like a little kid. Which seemed to make her embarrassed to be held in such a way in front of her team.

"You've grown since I left, haven't you? Before there was no way you could of held yourself in a fight like that," he laughed, only to make his sister's face turn even more red. "hehe but you're still the same old Maddie I've always known."

"Stop picking on me! And put me down, I'm not a baby anymore," Zapps wined as she tried to wiggle out of Cyborg's hands.

"You could of fool us," Artemis laughed, making Zapps give her a glare over Cyborg's shoulder.

Cyborg sighed before finally putting Zapps down, "I guess I should get going. I'm sure you guys want to get home too."

Zapps looked up at him with a sad expression. "Don't worry, I won't hide from you anymore," he rubbed her head, knowing what she was thinking.

The two walked off the ship and said their goodbyes. Cyborg promised to get in touch with her later on before he head out. Zapps just stood there for a moment before making her way back on the ship.

"Ah man, I can't believe I forgot!" she heard Kid Flash say at the moment they took off.

"What did you forget, Wally?" Miss Martian asked.

"I forgot to ask Cyborg if he had any embarrassing stories on Maddie."

"Why would you ask him that?!" Zapps huffed, sitting into her set.

"It's pay back."

"I never asked you mom to tell me that stuff, she just did!"

"Still, it's only fair," KF said, sitting back in his sit and sighed. "Guess the one about you going on about how cute Robin is will have to do for now. Not like that's anything new, right Rob?"

Kid Flash looked over to Robin and gave him a smirk, only to get a glare in return.

"Wait! Y-You got t-that wrong. Vic only said that to p-pick on me. I-It's not true."

"Riiiiiiiiiggghhhtt. The stutter really makes me believe that," Kid rolled his eyes and laughed.

"Shut up! And here I thought you where going to say you forgot a souvenir from this mission," Zapps pouted, trying to fight back the red wanting to come to her cheeks.

"Ah dude, I did forget to get one," he groaned as he put his hand over his face.

Not long after his realization, he felt something brushing over his hand. He pulled his hand down from over his eyes to see what it was and saw Zapps standing behind him with a smile on her face and her hair taken down. She was holding her pink ribbons between her index finger and thumb, making them dance in front of his face.

"Probably not the best souvenir but it's all I got for ya," she giggled.

"This is perfect!" he said happily, taking the ribbons from her. "But this isn't going to change my mind about talking to your brother. I'm going to have my pay back."

"I know, I know," Maddie rolled her eyes before giving him a devilish smile. "It's ok cause I'm coming over to your house tomorrow to spend the night."

"Who said?"

"Your mom when I call her tomorrow," Zapps smiled. "So you should go on and get your sleeping bag out."
